The core rulebook has a dedicated Black Market section (p. 186) covering items illegal or restricted across most of the galaxy — marked with an (R) before their price elsewhere in the gear chapter. Buying these usually means going through a fence, criminal contact, or the right Streetwise/Underworld connections rather than an ordinary shop.
Restricted Weapons
| Item | Price | Rarity | Why it's restricted |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disruptor Pistol | (R) 3000 | 6 | Banned nearly everywhere — causes horrific, often lethal wounds (Vicious 4) |
| Disruptor Rifle | (R) 5000 | 6 | Same as above, rifle-sized (Vicious 5) |
| Thermal Detonator | (R) 2000 | 8 | Military-grade explosive; illegal for civilians on most worlds |
| Light Repeating Blaster | (R) 2250 | 7 | Military-grade auto-fire weapon |
Restricted Security & Espionage Gear
| Item | Price | Encum | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electronic Lock Breaker | (R) 1000 | 1 | 5 |
| Flesh Camouflage Set | (R) 2500 | 2 | 7 |
| Personal Stealth Field | (R) 20000 | 1 | 9 |
| Data Breaker | (R) 1000 | 1 | 6 |
Flesh Camouflage Set: a comprehensive disguise kit that can even fool bio-scanners — checks to see through it are Formidable difficulty. Personal Stealth Field: renders the user invisible to sight; checks to detect them by other means (sound, smell, etc.) are Formidable difficulty, though the field is prone to collapsing. Data Breaker: a slicing tool that adds a boost die to Computers checks made to slice, well beyond what's legally sanctioned for private ownership.
Illegal Drugs
(Fictional in-universe substances — game stats only, for use as narrative color or in-game effects.)
| Substance | Price (1 dose) | Rarity | In-fiction effect (paraphrased) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avabush Spice | (R) 25 | 6 | Induces lethargy; muddles the user's thinking and makes lies easier to spot |
| Booster Blue | (R) 10 | 5 | Sharpens reflexes and focus temporarily, at the cost of being unable to recover strain for the rest of the session |
| Death Sticks | (R) 5 | 1 | Mildly hallucinogenic; highly addictive with severe long-term health costs |
| Glitterstim | (R) 100 | 7 | Hallucinogenic spice that heightens perception; highly addictive, mined by slave labor in-universe (notably the Kessel spice mines) |
| Lesai | (R) 500 | 9 | Removes the need for sleep; rumored by some Imperial officials to erode empathy with prolonged use |
| Yarrock | (R) 350 | 8 | Suppresses fear responses temporarily, at the cost of impaired judgment afterward |
Notes for the GM
- All (R) items are priced at their black-market rate, since they can't be bought openly.
- Acquiring these normally calls for a Streetwise or Knowledge (Underworld) check to find the right contact, followed by a Negotiation check to actually make the deal — and carrying them is a liability if a character is searched or scanned (see Holoscanner in general equipment).
- Given the campaign's plot involving a hunt for the medical droid's records, black-market slicing gear (Data Breaker) and stealth/disguise items (Flesh Camouflage Set, Personal Stealth Field) may be especially relevant to players trying to move unnoticed or cover their tracks.
